Book depot software built around the counter, not a spreadsheet
BooksPOS is made by Innobrains Technologies for Pakistan's book depots, bookshops and stationers. It is in development, and every claim on this site says how far it has got.
A book depot is not a general shop
Stand behind the counter of a book depot in the school season and you see a business that ordinary billing software does not understand. The same title comes in two editions that must never be mixed up. Parents pay ahead and collect later, sometimes in parts. A school's list for Class 5 has to be sold as a set, minus the book the family already has. Stationery comes in boxes of 10, 12 or 500, and is sold by the piece. Publishers take books back, and that money is owed until their credit note arrives.
BooksPOS is built around exactly these things: each edition as its own item, advances held for the customer rather than counted as sales, school course sets at the till, pack sizes per item, and publisher returns that stay open until they are settled. It keeps its records on the shop's own PC, so the counter never waits for the internet.

Six rules BooksPOS is built on
They were settled before the first screen was drawn, and they still decide every feature.
It must bill with the router unplugged
A shop cannot stop selling because the internet did. The store PC keeps the records and bills at full speed with no internet; the cloud is for the owner's view, not for making a sale.
One PC owns the shop's records
Only the store server writes to the shop's database. Tills on other PCs ask it, so two counters can never both sell the last copy.
An edition is its own item
The 2025 and 2026 editions of a reader are different stock with different prices. BooksPOS never merges them, and never invents an ISBN.
Every rupee has a trail
Sales, returns, purchases and payments post balanced double entries. Posted records are never edited; a correction is a new document.
Say how fresh a figure is
The owner portal shows when each branch last reported and marks it STALE after 15 minutes. Nothing is ever called "live".
No claim before it is true
Every feature on this site carries its real state. No customer quotes or ratings, no price before one is decided, and no FBR number that FBR did not issue.
A Pakistani software company that writes its own code
Innobrains Technologies was founded in 2022 in Jhang, Punjab, by Arshad Ali. It is a software house that builds products for Pakistani businesses.
We write BooksPOS ourselves; it is not someone else's product with a new name on it. Our other products are MediPOS, pharmacy POS software, and AgroPOS, point-of-sale software for agriculture-input dealers.
BooksPOS, at bookspos.pk, is this product: made in Jhang by Innobrains Technologies for book depots and stationers in Pakistan. It is not connected with any other product or company that uses a similar name.

A young product, built in the open
BooksPOS is in development. Its features are built milestone by milestone and each is covered by automated tests, but no shop runs it yet, and there is no public installer. We would rather say that plainly than claim a scale we do not have.
